Are you feeling sad, alone, and empty? These can be sources of confusion and suffering in one’s life. These are just some of the intense feelings we experience as human beings, and while it can be very painful at times, no one is immune from these deep feelings. Depression, anxiety, and chronic pain can feel like they have control over you and your life and make finding the clarity to move forward, make decisions, and solve problems very difficult. There are roots to the suffering and together we can navigate through old and new wounds while constructively resolving current life challenges.

I work intentionally and intuitively to create a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your life and your feelings. Each person who comes to me for therapy receives compassionate attention. This caring attention is the container in which healing and change can occur. Together we can transform the roots of your pain into a deep understanding of yourself, your purpose, and the relationships in your life. Our focus will be on finding what is most meaningful in you and your life as we peel back the layers that have covered over who you truly are.

I welcome your email or call so we can explore the possibility of embarking on this important journey together.

What happens to us lives in us, even if we aren’t aware of it. When experiences overwhelm us we begin feeling stuck or we notice patterns that we can’t quite break. We feel stress, pain, sadness, anxiety, emptiness, aching, flatness, overwhelm, and so many other things. As much as we try to numb it, avoid it, or run from it, when we slow down or stop we feel it all again; it won’t go away. But you aren’t broken, you’re trying to heal. The answers are within you, they’ve just been obscured. I’m here to compassionately assist you in your healing process, to help you gain tools and knowledge, and to support you in changing your life.

Working from a holistic, trauma-informed, mind-body, strengths-based approach that incorporates mindfulness, happiness studies and a depth perspective, we’ll explore your inner world. Acting as your guide, I’ll help you stay grounded and well-resourced as we peel back the layers of your experiences and nonjudgmentally hold space for what bubbles up from the unconscious. I’m a Certified Trauma Professional trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model) and I work with trauma, anxiety, ADHD, LGBTQ issues, highly sensitive people, and more.

Though the road may be rocky at times, with the right vehicle the ride becomes smoother. Through our work you’ll understand yourself, feel empowered, and release what weighs you down. Here’s what I aim to provide: the space and tools to make life easier to manage. It would be my pleasure to facilitate your healing process and help your journey feel less rocky.

Understanding what each of us is driven by is not an easy task. Life stressors can be overwhelming and detrimental. At times of feeling lost or unsure, we can become disheartened and wonder if we’ll ever find the answer. Having a safe and supportive space can be a resource for achieving happiness, purpose and fulfillment. I will provide that safe space with a nonjudgmental approach that will assist you in your personal journey to healing. I can help you gain the tools to become self-sufficient in applying necessary changes to your daily life.

If you are interested in understanding the way you interact with your world and your overall sense of being, you have come to the right place. By emphasizing the importance of constructive communication, I will strive to help you in the self-awareness process and guide the way for personal healing and self-discovery.

Areas of focus in daily life include: school, work, relationships, family commitments and social relationships. I work with individuals, families and couples struggling with issues such as: anxiety, oppositional behaviors, depression, trauma, communication and interpersonal issues. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have!

Seeking help is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength. It takes a lot of courage to admit to yourself that you need help and for that you should be proud. When we are going through hard times we sometimes forget just how strong we are and are blinded by our struggles. My goal in therapy is to help remove those blind spots, and help you see that the answers lie within you. I am not here to tell you what to do. Instead I am here to guide you and help you uncover the strength and potential that already resides within you.

Weekends available.

I believe that we live our lives mythologically and that the narratives we construct have a measurable impact on our lives. If we tell ourselves that life is a battle, it has a different effect than if we tell ourselves that life is a journey, or a stage, or a game.

There are times when our narratives prevent us from moving forward. As the old adage says, “If your only tool is a hammer, every problem begins to look like a nail.” I believe that the role of the therapist is to help clients discover new narratives and tools, whether it’s finding new approaches to old problems or understanding other people's stories.

The world can be a difficult place to manage when you are feeling alone, anxious,
depressed, angry, ashamed, jealous or hopeless. I am here to help you gain the
necessary tools needed to break some of those dysfunctional or generational cycles
that are making you feel stuck.

My sessions take on a psychodynamic approach and may guide you back through your past in order to help you understand and grow in your future, while providing a sense of safety, non-judgment, empathy and positivity. I am so grateful to be able to collaboratively take you through your journey of discovery if you so choose. I work with individuals, families, children and teens.

In addition to my therapeutic work here at Life Source Affordable Counseling, I am also a Special Education Teacher with Val Verde Unified School District, where I teach students with mild to moderate disabilities such as ADHD, Autism, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Emotional Disturbance and Specific Learning Disability in grades Kindergarten through Fifth.

Participation and inclusion do not involve changing people to fit in, but changing the world.

Sometimes, life’s challenges become heavy on our shoulders, and we need some support to help lighten the load. As a Marriage Family Therapist Trainee, my goal is to focus on an individual’s strength and to empower and apply your current skill set to help overcome life’s hurdles.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process in which the individual, couple, or family sets their goal, and I help guide them towards strategies to achieve it. I embrace individuals with an open, empathetic, supportive, and direct approach.

Along with working with Life Source, I am an Outreach Counselor in several local schools where I work with adolescents, aged 12 to 18, on learning how to cope with symptoms of anxiety and depression.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call or email me.
