Melanie Sanchez
Professional Clinical Counselor Trainee
My name is Melanie Sanchez, and I’m currently completing my graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Culver-Stockton College. As a PCC Trainee, I’m focused on building a career that centers trauma-informed care, youth engagement, and culturally responsive counseling. I’m especially drawn to working with justice-involved youth, where I can combine evidence-based interventions with creativity and empathy to support resilience and healing.
What excites me most about counseling is the ability to adapt these theories to real-life situations in ways that feel accessible and meaningful. I believe therapy should never feel out of reach it should meet people where they are, honor their lived experiences, and provide tools that help them move forward.
As a counselor I aim to show up with warmth, balance, and authenticity. For me, trust grows through genuine communication, and that trust is the foundation of healing. I also value self-care and reflection, recognizing that we can only support others well when we’re mindful of our own wellbeing.
